Adopt a Douc Monkey

Douc Monkey

Douc monkeys are found throughout the tropical forests in China and Southeast Asia. Their diet consists mostly of leaves, but also unripe fruit, seeds and flowers. Often considered the most beautiful of all primates, douc monkeys do not drink water, but rather acquire the moisture they need from their food. Three species of douc live in the Greater Mekong: red-shanked, black-shanked and grey-shanked. Because of habitat loss and capture for illegal pet trade, the grey-shanked douc is one of the world’s 25 most endangered primates. Show More
