Warthogs are African pigs named for the thick, wart-like protective pads that appear on both sides of the head. They sleep and rest in holes, often using holes dug by other animals, like aardvarks. Without fur or fat, this species lacks protection from the sun and insulation from cold, so shelter is important for them to regulate their body temperature.
