Interesting Species Fact
Black-tailed jackrabbits are actually hares, not rabbits. Hares are born with fur and are larger than rabbits, with taller hind legs and longer ears. Jackrabbits use their powerful hind legs to propel them on leaps in zigzag patterns to escape predators.
